CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE VALVE

    Tech Tips

    Arrange the valves, inner compression springs, valve spring retainers and valve spring retainer locks in the correct order.

      Place the cylinder head on a wooden block.

    2. Using SST, compress the inner compression spring and remove the valve spring retainer lock.

    3. Remove the inner compression spring, valve spring retainer and valve.

  2. REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL

      Using pliers, remove the valve stem oil seal.

  3. REMOVE VALVE SPRING SEAT

      Using compressed air and a magnetic finger, remove the valve spring seat by blowing air.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 STRAIGHT SCREW PLUG (w/ DPF)

      Remove the No. 1 straight screw plug and gasket.

  5. REMOVE NOZZLE HOLDER CLAMP SEAT (w/o DPF)
