CYLINDER HEAD REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 1 STRAIGHT SCREW PLUG (w/ DPF)


    1. Install a new gasket with the No. 1 straight screw plug.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL NOZZLE HOLDER CLAMP SEAT (w/o DPF)


    1. Install the nozzle holder clamp seat.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL VALVE SPRING SEAT

  4. INSTALL VALVE STEM OIL SEAL

      Apply a light coat of engine oil to the valve guide bush.

    2. Using SST, push in a new valve stem oil seal.

    3. Check that the protrusion height of the valve stem oil seal labeled A in the illustration is as specified.

      Standard protrusion height
      Below 14.7 mm (0.579 in.)

  5. INSTALL VALVE


    1. A01X0D4E07
      *1 50 mm (1.97 in.)

      Apply plenty of engine oil to the tip area of the valve as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01X2PYE03

      Place the cylinder head on a wooden block.

    3. Install the valve, inner compression spring and valve spring retainer to the cylinder head.

      Note

      Install the same parts in the same combination to their original locations.

    4. Using SST, compress the inner compression spring and place the valve spring retainer lock around the valve stem.

      Using a plastic-faced hammer, lightly tap the valve stem tip to ensure a proper fit.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the valve stem tip.
