      Area Dimension

      Note

Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

    3. Lightly press the drill bit against the rivets to drill off the rivet flanges, and remove the 5 windshield No. 1 outside moulding clips.

      Note

      • Make sure to protect both the inside and outside of the vehicle from the rivet shavings.

      • Pressing the drill excessively will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled.

      • Do not pry the rivets with the drill, because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivets or the drill bit.

      • Be careful as the cut rivet will be hot.

    4. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.
