Tech Tips

When the front bumper is damaged or deformed due to an accident or contact with other objects, etc., or the bumper installation area on the body is repaired, it is necessary to perform millimeter wave radar sensor adjustment.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT SPOILER COVER (w/ Front Spoiler)

    Click here

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

      Remove the 7 clips and radiator support opening cover.

  3. REMOVE HOOD CENTER CUSHION

      Remove the 2 hood center cushions.

  4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY

      w/ Lexus Safety System+:


      1. Disengage the clamp.

      2. Disconnect the connector.

      B001MUK Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape around the front bumper assembly as shown in the illustration.

    3. B001KVFC03
      *1 Pin Hold Clip
      *a 90°

      Using a screwdriver, turn each pin 90 degrees and remove the 2 pin hold clips.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    4. B001LLDC02
      *1 Front Bumper Seal Bracket

      Remove the screw.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    5. Remove the front bumper seal bracket.

      Note

      Do not pull the front bumper assembly until the front bumper seal bracket is removed, or the front bumper assembly may be damaged.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

      Remove the 6 screws.

    7. B001KOS

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    8. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    9. B001MJA

      Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    10. B001KVT

      Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    11. Disconnect each connector.

    12. w/ Headlight Cleaner System:


      1. B001KL1

        Disconnect the headlight cleaner hose from the windshield washer motor and pump assembly, and drain the washer fluid.

        Tech Tips

        Use a container to collect the washer fluid.

    13. Remove the front bumper assembly.
