DESCRIPTION

The vehicle approaching speaker assembly circuit consists of the vehicle approaching speaker controller and vehicle approaching speaker assembly.

This DTC is stored when a malfunction is detected in the vehicle approaching speaker assembly circuit.

Either of the following conditions is met:


  • When sound output voltage is being monitored by the ECU, with the power switch on (IG), auxiliary battery voltage 10 V or more, and warning sound being produced, a speaker circuit short condition continues for 1 second or more.

  • When sound output voltage is being monitored by the ECU, with the power switch on (IG) and warning sound not being produced, a speaker circuit open condition continues for 5 seconds or more.


  • Vehicle approaching speaker controller

  • Vehicle approaching speaker assembly

  • Harness or connector between vehicle approaching speaker controller and vehicle approaching speaker assembly

  1. INSPECT VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the vehicle approaching speaker assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the vehicle approaching speaker assembly Click here.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER ASSEMBLY - VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER)


    1. Disconnect the H183 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A82-1 (+) - H183-3 (SP+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A82-2 (-) - H183-8 (SP-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A82-1 (+) or H183-3 (SP+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A82-2 (-) or H183-8 (SP-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
