DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU assembly actuates the headlight leveling motors according to vehicle conditions.

Note

When the headlight leveling ECU assembly is replaced, initialization is also necessary.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A46 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A76 headlight assembly LH connector.

    3. Disconnect the A77 headlight assembly RH connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A46-11 (LH+) - A76-5 (LHIG) Always Below 1 Ω
      A46-24 (LH-) - A76-2 (LH E) Always Below 1 Ω
      A46-18 (LHT) - A76-1 (LH T) Always Below 1 Ω
      A46-11 (LH+) or A76-5 (LHIG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A46-24 (LH-) or A76-2 (LH E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A46-18 (LHT) or A76-1 (LH T) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      A46-10 (RH+) - A77-5 (RHIG) Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. INSPECT FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE


    1. Remove the front turn signal light socket and wire.

    2. Inspect the front turn signal light socket and wire.

  4. REPLACE HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR


    1. Replace the headlight leveling motor with a new or known good one.

      Click here

    2. Perform the active test of the leveling motors.
