LIGHTING SYSTEM Rear Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the rear fog light.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK OPERATION (TAILLIGHTS)


    1. Check the operation of the taillights.

      OK
      Taillights operation normally.

    NG
    OK
  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  3. INSPECT RR FOG RELAY

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RR FOG RELAY INPUT VOLTAGE)


    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (RR FOG relay) - Body ground Light control switch off → tail Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V
      5 (RR FOG relay) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RR FOG RELAY - REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the V16 rear light assembly LH connector.*1

    2. Disconnect the V15 rear light assembly RH connector.*2


      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (RR FOG relay) - V16-6 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (RR FOG relay) or V16-6 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      V16-5 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (RR FOG relay) - V15-6 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (RR FOG relay) or V15-6 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      V15-5 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RR FOG RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU))


    1. Disconnect the H17 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (RR FOG relay) - H17-20 (RFGO) Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (RR FOG relay) or H17-20 (RFGO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RR FOG RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 2A and 2B instrument panel junction block assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 (RR FOG relay) - 2A-55 Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (RR FOG relay) - 2B-7 Always Below 1 Ω
      5 (RR FOG relay) or 2A-55 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 (RR FOG relay) or 2B-7 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
