LIGHTING SYSTEM Rear Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the rear fog light relay.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK OPERATION (TAILLIGHTS)


    1. Check the operation of the taillights.

      OK
      Taillights operation normally.

    NG
    OK
  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Check that the relay operates.

      Rear fog light relay operates. (Rear fog light comes on.)

  3. INSPECT RR FOG RELAY


    1. A004Z5IE02

      Remove the RR fog relay from the No. 4 relay block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RR FOG RELAY INPUT VOLTAGE)


    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 2 - Body ground Light control switch off → tail Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V
      Relay terminal 5 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RR FOG RELAY - REAR FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the V9 and V2 rear fog light assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay Terminal 3 - V9-4 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay Terminal 3 - V2-4 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay Terminal 3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RR FOG RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU))


    1. Disconnect the H17 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 1 - H17-20 (RFGO) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RR FOG RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 2A and 2B instrument panel junction block assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 5 - 2A-55 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 2 - 2B-7 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Relay terminal 2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
