LIGHTING SYSTEM High Beam Headlight Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the high beam headlights.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

      High beam headlights illuminate.

  2. INSPECT DIM RELAY


    1. Inspect the DIM relay.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE - DIM RELAY)


    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (DIM relay) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      3 (DIM relay) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIM RELAY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A10*1 or A73*2 headlight assembly LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the A41*1 or A75*2 headlight assembly RH connector.


      • *1: for Halogen Headlight

      • *2: for LED Headlight

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for Halogen Headlight
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 (DIM relay) - A10-3 (HI) Always Below 1 Ω
      5 (DIM relay) - A41-3 (HI) Always Below 1 Ω
      5 (DIM relay) or A10-3 (HI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      5 (DIM relay) or A41-3 (HI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for LED Headlight
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 (DIM relay) - A73-2 (SOL) Always Below 1 Ω
      5 (DIM relay) - A75-2 (SOL) Always Below 1 Ω
      5 (DIM relay) or A73-2 (SOL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      5 (DIM relay) or A75-2 (SOL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIM RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 2C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      1 (DIM relay) or 2C-22 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
