AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the light control switch to the AUTO position.
Cover the automatic light control sensor.
Check that the taillights and low beam headlights come on.
Uncover the automatic light control sensor.
Check that the low beam headlights and taillights go off.
LIGHT AUTO TURN OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (except Driver Door-linked Light Auto Turn-off System)
When the light control switch is in the tail or head position:
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the low beam headlights, high beam headlights, taillights, front fog lights*1 and rear fog light*2 on.
Turn the power switch off.
Check that the low beam headlights, high beam headlights and front fog lights*1 turn off immediately.
Tech Tips
The taillights and rear fog light*2 will remain on.

When the light control switch is in the AUTO position:
Close the driver door.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the taillights, low beam headlights, high beam headlights, front fog lights*1 and rear fog light*2 on by covering the automatic light control sensor.
Turn the power switch off.
Check that all of the exterior lights turn off immediately.

LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (for Driver Door-linked Light Auto Turn-off System)
Close all the doors.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the low beam headlights, high beam headlights, taillights, front fog lights*1 and rear fog light*2 on.
Turn the power switch off.
Open the driver door.
Check that all of the exterior lights turn off immediately.

*2: w/ Rear Fog Light
LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Delay Function)
When only the taillights are on:
Close the driver door.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the light control switch to the tail position.
Turn the power switch off.
Open the driver door.
Check that the taillights turn off immediately.
When the headlights are on:
Close all of the doors.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the headlights on.
Turn the power switch off.
Open any door.
Close all of the doors.
Check that all of the lights turn off after 30 seconds (delay function).
Tech Tips
Before the lights turn off, if the lock button on the key is pushed after all of the doors are locked, all of the lights will turn off immediately.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
Turn the power switch on (READY).
Turn the light control switch to the AUTO position (Make sure the taillights are not turned on by the automatic light control system).
Release the parking brake.
Check that the daytime running lights (high intensity clearance lights) come on.
WELCOME LIGHT ILLUMINATION CONTROL OPERATION CHECK
Turn the light control switch to the AUTO position.
Cover the automatic light control sensor.
Turn the power switch off.
Close and lock all doors.
Unlock all doors by a wireless door unlock or entry door unlock operation.
Check that the taillights, clearance lights (low intensity clearance lights), license plate lights and interior lights (switch illumination, etc.) come on for approximately 15 seconds.
FOLLOW ME HOME CONTROL OPERATION CHECK (w/ Follow Me Home Control)
Turn the power switch off.
Turn the light control switch to the off or AUTO position.
Pull the light control switch to flash the headlights once.
Check that the low beam headlights, taillights, clearance lights (low intensity clearance lights), license plate lights and interior lights (switch illumination, etc.) come on for approximately 30 seconds.
DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
The operations and conditions of this system are described below.

Tech Tips
*: When the lights are on, if the key leaves the actuation areas around the doors, after approximately 3 seconds, the door mirror foot lights fade out.
AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Automatic High Beam System)

Check the operation of the automatic high beam indicator light.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the light control switch to the AUTO or head position.
Move the dimmer switch to the high position.
Press the auto high beam switch.
Tech Tips
If the auto high beam switch is turned on when the light control switch is not in the AUTO or head position, or the dimmer switch is not in the high position, "To Activate Auto High Beam, Switch Headlights to High Beam" will be displayed on the multi-information display.
Check that the automatic high beam indicator illuminates.
Note
When the forward recognition camera cannot correctly detect objects due to inclement weather such as thick fog or other visual obstructions, the automatic high beam indicator light may not turn on and consequently the automatic high beam system may not operate.
Check the operation of the automatic high beam function.
At night, when driving the vehicle with the automatic high beam system in standby mode, check that the high beams automatically turn on after a short delay when all of the following conditions are met:
The vehicle speed is more than approximately 40 km/h (25 mph). (for European Models)
The vehicle speed is more than approximately 30 km/h (19 mph). (except European Models)
The area in front of the vehicle is dark.
There are no oncoming vehicles with headlights on.
There are no preceding vehicles with taillights on.
There are few streetlights along the street ahead.
At night, when driving the vehicle with the high beams turned on by the automatic high beam system, check that the automatic high beam system turns off the high beams and returns to standby mode when any of the following conditions are met:
The vehicle speed is less than approximately 30 km/h (19 mph). (for European Models)
The vehicle speed is less than approximately 25 km/h (16 mph). (except European Models)
The level of ambient light is higher than a specified threshold.
There are oncoming vehicles with headlights on.
There are preceding vehicles with taillights on.
Light from streetlights ahead is higher than a specified threshold.
