WINDSHIELD DEICER SYSTEM Windshield Deicer does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the windshield deicer switch*1 or front wiper deicer switch (outer mirror heater switch assembly)*2 is operated, the operation signal is transmitted to the air conditioning amplifier assembly via CAN and AVC-LAN communication lines*1, or directly*2. When the air conditioning amplifier assembly receives the signal, it turns on the No. 1 integration relay to operate the windshield deicer.

Note

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • w/ Multi-display

The windshield deicer system uses the CAN communication and AVC-LAN communication. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the communication lines. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure Click here.

  • If the auxiliary battery voltage becomes low, windshield deicer operation is canceled to prioritize supplying power to the power steering system Click here.
