DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left sensor) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left sensor). If the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left sensor) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT SENSOR)


    1. Remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left sensor) Click here.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (S) - 1 (E) Always 20 to 40 kΩ

    REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT SENSOR) Click here

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT SENSOR) - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the U6 No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left sensor) connector.

    2. Disconnect the A78 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U6-2 (S) - A78-3 (S2) Always Below 1 Ω
      U6-1 (E) - A78-4 (E2) Always Below 1 Ω
      U6-2 (S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U6-1 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
