DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor). If the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note

If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the clearance sonar main switch on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR)


    1. Remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor).

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (S) - 1 (E) Always 20 to 40 kΩ

    REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR) Click here

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR) - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the U8 No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor) connector.

    2. Disconnect the A78 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U8-2 (S) - A78-8 (S4) Always Below 1 Ω
      U8-1 (E) - A78-9 (E4) Always Below 1 Ω
      U8-2 (S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U8-1 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
