NAVIGATION SYSTEM Audio cannot be Recorded to HDD

Tech Tips

The HDD is compliant with the Serial Copy Management System (SCMS). Therefore, recording from a CD-R that is a copy of a commercially published music CD is not possible.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK SOUND LIBRARY SETTING (OPERATION CHECK)

      Enter the "Sound Library Information" screen.

      Refer to Check Sound Library Setting in Operation Check Click here.

    2. Select "ON" for the recording function setting for HDD.

    3. Check if recording is possible.

      OK
      Malfunction disappears.

  2. CHECK SOUND LIBRARY SETTING (OPERATION CHECK)

    2. Check the free space on the HDD on the screen.

  3. CHECK IF AUDIO POWER IS ON


    1. Check if the audio power is on.

      Tech Tips

      When the audio power is off, audio recording is not possible.

  4. CHECK IF RECORDING SETTING IS SET TO AUTO


    1. Check if the recording setting is set to AUTO.

      Tech Tips

      When the recording setting is set to manual, recording does not start automatically after a CD is inserted.

  5. CHECK CD

      Check that the disc is not deformed or cracked.

  6. CLEAN CD AND RECHECK

      Check the disc by wiping it clean with a soft cloth from the inside to the outside in a radial direction.

      Note

      Do not use a conventional record cleaner or anti-static preservative.

  7. CHECK USING ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH NAVIGATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if the CD plays normally on the navigation system of another vehicle of the same model.
