PARKING BRAKE CABLE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE CLAMP


    1. A004WY3

      Engage the 2 claws to install a new No. 2 parking brake cable clamp to the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Even if a one-piece type No. 2 parking brake cable clamp was originally installed, make sure to install a separate type No. 2 parking brake clamp.

  2. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the 5 bolts.

      Torque:
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }

      *2 Clip

      Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Be sure to engage the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly clip onto the rear disc brake cylinder assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Connect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

      Engage the clamp to install the No. 2 parking brake cable clamp.

  3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE LEVER PROTECTOR

      Install the parking brake lever protector to the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  4. INSTALL REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER (w/ Floor Under Cover)


    1. for LH Side:

      Tech Tips

      Perform the following procedure when installing the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.


      1. Install the rear floor side member cover LH with the 2 bolts, nut and 2 clips.

    2. for RH Side:

      Tech Tips

      Perform the following procedure when installing the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.


      1. Install the rear floor side member cover RH with the bolt, nut and 2 clips.

  5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR


    1. A004WPJ

      Install the front No. 2 floor heat insulator with the 3 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


  7. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE PULL ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *3 No. 3 Parking Brake Cable Assembly

      Connect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the No. 1 parking brake pull rod sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Connect the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly to the No. 1 parking brake pull rod sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Perform the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. Pass the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the parking brake pedal assembly.

      Install the clip to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    3. A004Z9U

      Bend the parking brake pedal claw.

    4. A004VL7

      Temporarily install the adjusting nut.

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Pass the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the parking brake pedal assembly.

      Install the clip to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    3. A004W52

      Bend the parking brake pedal claw.

    4. A004VZV

      Temporarily install the adjusting nut.

  10. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  12. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }
