    Tech Tips

    Using the intelligent tester to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensor, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

    Note

    In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus:

      Select: Body / (desired system) / Data List /

    5. According to the display on intelligent tester, read the "Data List".

      Rear Console Switch
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      RL Shade Switch Rear left door sunshade switch / ON or OFF

      ON: Rear door sunshade switch is pressed

      OFF: Rear door sunshade switch is not pressed

      RR Shade Switch Rear right door sunshade switch / ON or OFF

      ON: Rear door sunshade switch is pressed

      OFF: Rear door sunshade switch is not pressed

      Center Console Switch

      Rear Right Shade Rear right curtain status / Open, Opening, Close, Closing or NG

      Open: Curtain is lowered

      Opening: Curtain is lowering

      Close: Curtain is raised

      Closing: Curtain is raising

      NG: Error occurs

      Rear Left Shade Rear left curtain status / Open, Opening, Close, Closing or NG

      Open: Curtain is raised

      Opening: Curtain is lowering

      Close: Curtain is lowered

      Closing: Curtain is raising

      NG: Error occurs

      Rear Door Sunshade Status Rear curtain status / Open, Opening, Close, Closing or NG

      Open: Curtain is raised

      Opening: Curtain is lowering

      Close: Curtain is lowered

      Closing: Curtain is raising

      NG: Indefinite condition after voltage reset (before position calibration (initialization))

      Rear Sunshade Stop Status Rear curtain stop status / OK or NG

      NG: Hall sensor is malfunctioning

      OK: Hall sensor is normal

      Open: Curtain is lowered

  2. ACTIVE TEST

    Tech Tips

    Using the intelligent tester to perform the Active Tests allows relays, VSVs and actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus:

      Select: Body / (desired system) / Active Test /

    5. According to the display on intelligent tester, perform the "Active Test".
