DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM Front Passenger Side Door Closer does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The front door ECU (for front passenger side) receives front door closer (for front passenger side) signals, and activates the front door closer motor.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. Check the power door lock control function Click here.

      OK
      Each function of power door lock control system operates normally using master switch.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR ECU - FRONT DOOR CLOSER) (for Front Passenger Side)

    1. for LHD:


      1. Disconnect the N2 ECU connector.

      2. Disconnect the N7 closer connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        N2-5 (A2+) - N7-1 (CLM+) Always Below 1 Ω
        N2-6 (A2-) - N7-4 (CLM-) Always Below 1 Ω
        N2-7 (POLE) - N7-6 (POLE) Always Below 1 Ω
        N2-8 (HALF) - N7-2 (HALF) Always Below 1 Ω
        N2-9 (FULL) - N7-5 (FULL) Always Below 1 Ω
        N2-18 (INIT) - N7-3 (DLSE) Always Below 1 Ω
        N2-19 (HNDL) - N7-7 (CLP3) Always Below 1 Ω
        N2-15 (CPSE) - N7-8 (CPSE) Always Below 1 Ω
        N2-5 (A2+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        N2-6 (A2-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        N2-7 (POLE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        N2-8 (HALF) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        N2-9 (FULL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        N2-18 (INIT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        N2-19 (HNDL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. for RHD:


      1. Disconnect the N9 ECU connector.

      2. Disconnect the N14 closer connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance

        N9-5 (A2+) - N14-1 (CLM+) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-6 (A2-) - N14-4 (CLM-) Always Below 1 Ω

        N9-9 (FULL) - N14-5 (FULL) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-18 (INIT) - N14-3 (DLSE) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-19 (HNDL) - N14-7 (CLP3) Always Below 1 Ω

  3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (FRONT DOOR CLOSER) (for Front Passenger Side)

    1. for LHD:


      1. Remove the front door with lock motor RH Click here.

      2. Set the door closer to the half-latch position.

      3. Apply battery voltage to the lock motor connector and check the closer operation.

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (CLM+)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (CLM-)

        Door closer operation normal

    2. for RHD:


      1. Remove the front door with lock motor LH Click here.

      2. Set the door closer to the half-latch position.

      3. Apply battery voltage to the lock motor connector and check the closer operation.

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (CLM-)

        Door closer operation normal

  4. CHECK FRONT DOOR ECU (OPERATION) (for Front Passenger Side)


    1. Temporarily replace the front door ECU (for front passenger side) with a new or normally functioning front door ECU (for front passenger side) Click here.

    2. Check the door closer operation.

      Door closer operation normal.
