ENTRY AND START SYSTEM Rear Door RH Entry Lock Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

If the rear door RH entry lock function does not operate but the entry unlock operation operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. Either of the following may have occurred: 1) the entry lock switch is malfunctioning; or 2) the rear door ECU RH receives the entry lock switch ON signal, but is unable to send the signal to the certification ECU through CAN communication.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. When the master switch assembly's door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

      Result

      Door locks do not operate normally NG

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, read the Data List.

      Rear Right Door (Rear door ECU RH)
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Lock Position SW Rear RH side door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF

      ON: Rear RH side door is unlocked

      OFF: Rear RH side door is locked

      OK
      On intelligent tester screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

    NG

    GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (Proceed to Only Rear Door RH LOCK/UNLOCK Functions do not Operate) Click here

  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (OUTSIDE HANDLE)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, read the Data List.

      Rear Right Door (Rear door ECU RH)
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Outside Handle Trigger SW Rear RH side door outside handle lock switch / ON or OFF

      ON: Rear RH side door outside handle lock switch is pushed

      OFF: Rear RH side door outside handle lock switch is not pushed

      On intelligent tester screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

  4. CHECK REAR DOOR ECU RH (OPERATION)


    1. Replace the rear door ECU RH with a new one or normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

  5. INSPECT REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY RH

      *1 Component Without Harness Connected: (Rear Door Outside Handle RH)

      Remove the rear door outside handle RH.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      O24-3 (TRG+) - O24-1 (TRG-) ON Below 1 Ω
      O24-3 (TRG+) - O24-1 (TRG-) OFF 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH - REAR DOOR ECU RH)

    1. Disconnect the O24 handle connector.

    2. Disconnect the O3 ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O24-3 (TRG+) - O3-20 (TRG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      O24-3 (TRG+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

    1. Disconnect the O24 handle connector.

    2. Disconnect the O23 oscillator connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O24-1 (TRG-) - O23-9 (TRG-) Always Below 1 Ω
      O24-1 (TRG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  8. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)


    1. Replace the door electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one Click here.
