ENTRY AND START SYSTEM Rear Door LH Entry Unlock Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

If the rear left door entry unlock function does not operate but the entry lock operation operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. Either of the following may have occurred: 1) the door outside handle touch sensor is malfunctioning; or 2) the rear door ECU LH receives the door outside handle touch sensor ON signal, but is unable to send the signal to the certification ECU through CAN communication.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. When the master switch assembly's door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

      Result

      Door locks do not operate normally NG

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, read the Data List.

      Rear Left Door (Rear door ECU LH)
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Lock Position SW Rear LH side door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF

      ON: Rear LH side door is unlocked

      OFF: Rear LH side door is locked

      OK
      On intelligent tester screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

    GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (Proceed to Only Rear Door LH LOCK/UNLOCK Functions do not Operate) Click here

  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (ENTRY SENSOR)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, read the Data List.

      Rear Left Door (Rear door ECU LH)
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Entry Sensor Rear LH side door touch sensor / ON or OFF

      ON: Rear LH side door sensor is touched

      OFF: Rear LH side door sensor is not touched

  4. CHECK REAR DOOR ECU LH (OPERATION)


    1. Replace the rear door ECU LH with a new one or normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - REAR DOOR LH)

    1. Disconnect the O14 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the O25 oscillator connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O14-16 (SEL) - O25-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      O14-16 (SEL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH)

    1. Disconnect the O25 oscillator connector.

    2. Disconnect the O26 handle connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O25-2 (SGT8) - O26-6 (SGT7) Always Below 1 Ω
      O25-2 (SGT8) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)


    1. Replace the door electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one Click here.
