POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Components Function
    Master switch Door control switch on master switch locks / unlocks all doors.
    Door control switch Locks / unlocks all doors.
    Door courtesy light switch Turns on when door is open and off when door is closed. Outputs door status (open or closed) to main body ECU.
    Front door with motor lock (for driver side)

    • Built-in motor locks / unlocks door

    • Built-in door control switch position (key-linked) detects door key cylinder (lock or unlock) and outputs data to front door ECU (for driver side)

    • Built-in position switch detected door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to front door ECU (for driver side). This switch turns off when door is locked and on when door is unlocked.

    • Built-in double lock motor sets / unsets double locking system*

    • Built-in double lock position switch detects double locking system status (set or unset) and outputs data to front door ECU (for driver side). This switch turns off when system is set and turns on when system is unset.*

    • Built-in motor locks / unlocks door

    • Built-in position switch detected door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to door ECU. This switch turns off when door is locked and on when door is unlocked.

    • Built-in double lock motor sets / unsets double locking system*

    • Built-in double lock position switch detects double locking system status (set or unset) and outputs data to each door ECU. This switch turns off when system is set and turns on when system is unset.*

  2. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


    1. The power door lock system locks / unlocks all doors.


      • The door control switch of the master switch uses the LIN line to send lock / unlock request signals to the main body ECU.

      • The driver door key cylinder switch uses the CAN line to send lock / unlock request signals through the front door ECU (for driver side) to the main body ECU.

      • The door control switch on the passenger door uses the CAN line to send lock / unlock request signals through the front door ECU (for passenger side) to the main body ECU.

      • Upon receiving request signals, the main body ECU sends these signals to the door ECUs on each door using the CAN. The door ECUs then lock / unlock each door.

      The door control system has the following functions:

      Locks / unlocks all doors when lock/unlock operation is possible
      Key lock-in prevention function When door control transmitter is in vehicle, performing door lock operation with lock switch on outer handle will not lock door and will sound a buzzer*1
      Collision door lock release If SRS has been deployed and main body ECU has detected signal that is output from airbag sensor, main body ECU will unlock all doors
      2-step unlock function Unlocks only driver side door by turning key cylinder once and unlocks other doors by turning it twice
      Double locking system*2

      • This system prevents doors from being opened through inside door knob's operation. Doors cannot be opened either from inside or outside of vehicle.

      • Pressing transmitter's LOCK switch twice within 5 seconds activates this system and locks doors. If battery of wireless door control is depleted, only driver's door can be opened by key. However, theft deterrent system's alarm will sound.

      Note

      Doors cannot be opened from inside of vehicle. Never activate this system when someone is inside vehicle. If this system is set accidentally, press transmitter's UNLOCK switch.
