  • First perform the communication function inspections in HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this symptom.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (REAR FOG LIGHT)


    1. Using the GTS, perform the Active Test.

      Body No.4
      Tester Display Test Part Control Range
      Rear Fog Light Rear fog light operation OFF - ON
      OK
      Rear fog light condition is switched by Active Test.

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK)

    *1 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Rear Junction Block ECU)

    1. Disconnect the LH ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      LH-1 (+BS2) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the S63 junction block connector.

    2. Disconnect the S33 and S41 light connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      for LH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S63-4 (STP3) - S33-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      S33-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S63-4 (STP3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S63-4 (STP3) - S41-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S63-4 (STP3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    OK

    REPLACE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY Click here

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. READ VALUE USING GTS (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH)


    1. Using the GTS, read the Data List.

      Combination Switch

      Rear fog light switch Headlight dimmer switch signal (Rr fog position)/ON or OFF

      ON: Rear fog light switch ON

      OFF: Rear fog light switch OFF

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Click here

  5. CHECK WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)


    1. Temporarily replace the windshield wiper switch with a new or normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Check the rear fog light operation.

      OK
      Rear fog light operation is normal.

  6. CHECK OPERATION LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)


    1. Temporarily replace the luggage room junction block with a new or normally functioning one.

    2. Check the rear fog light operation.

      OK
      Rear fog light operation is normal.

    OK

    REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
