  1. INSPECT SMOKE SENSOR

      Component without harness connected:

      (Smoke Sensor)

      Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal 3, and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1.

      Note

      After connecting the battery to the terminals of the smoke sensor, wait 35 seconds or more before performing the smoke sensor inspection.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Without smoke Below 1 V
      1 - 2 With smoke 4 V or higher

      Note


      • Perform the inspection with the sensor in a dark place, as the sensor uses light to detect smoke.

      • Perform the inspection after applying tobacco smoke for 26 seconds or more to the sensor.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.
