Tech Tips
Using the tester's Data List allows switch, sensor, actuator and other item values to be read without removing any parts. Reading the Data List early in troubleshooting is one way to save time.
Note
In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the tester on.
Enter the following menus:
Intelligent tester - Select: Body or Powertrain / (desired system) / Data List /.
Check the values by referring to the table below.

ACTIVE TEST
Tech Tips
Performing the Active Test enables components including relay, VSV (Vacuum Switching Value), actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. The Active Test can be performed with an intelligent tester. Performing an Active test as the first step in troubleshooting is one method of shortening diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch to on (IG).
Turn the tester on.
Enter the following menus:
Intelligent tester - Select: Body / (desired system) / Active Test /
Perform the Active Test by referring to the table below.
