DESCRIPTION

The electric power control ECU receives the ECM's generator control signal, compares the value with the battery current and battery voltage signals, and detects generator charging line malfunctions.

  1. Disconnection of B terminal of generator is detected

  2. Open in IG circuit is detected

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK GENERATOR ASSEMBLY (TERMINAL B)


    1. Check the generator's tightening torque value

      Standard torque
      Generator Standard torque
      Terminal 1 (B) 12 N*m (122 kgf*cm, 8.82 ft.*lbf)

    NG

    TIGHTEN GENERATOR ASSEMBLY (TERMINAL B)

    OK

  2. CHECK GENERATOR ASSEMBLY (IG INPUT VOLTAGE)

    *1 Front view of wire harness connected: (to Generator Assembly)

    1. Disconnect the E24 generator connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E24-2 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    OK

    REPLACE PASSENGER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (ELECTRIC POWER CONTROL ECU)

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
