DESCRIPTION

The power steering ECU detects malfunctions in the power steering converter's IG power supply voltage based on the power steering converter's WDD communication signal (DC / DC condition notification signal). As a fail-safe function, when the IG power supply and power steering converter are malfunctioning, power assistance stops.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK POWER STEERING CONVERTER ASSEMBLY (IG TERMINAL)


    1. A0019T5E02
      *1 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Power Steering Converter Assembly)

      Disconnect the A46 converter connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A46-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
