Tech Tips
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
PROCEDURE
INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING INSULATOR LOWER LH
| *1 | Recessed Part |
Install the rear coil spring insulator lower to the rear shock absorber so that both recessed parts are aligned.
INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING LH
Secure SST in a vise.
Attach the arm of SST to the diameter of the coil spring.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the coil spring is installed so that the distance between the upper and lower hooks of SST is at the maximum.
Make sure that the claws of the hooks are securely attached.
Using SST, compress the coil spring.
CAUTION:
If the coil spring bends during the compression, immediately stop the compression and reinstall SST.
Do not compress the spring until the coil springs contact each other.
Do not use an impact wrench.
| *1 | Lower End |
Install the coil spring so that the end comes to the stepped portion of the coil spring insulator lower.
INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING INSULATOR UPPER LH
| *1 | Rear Suspension Support |
| *2 | Cutout |
| *3 | Rear Coil Spring Insulator Upper |
Align the bolt of the rear suspension support and the cutout of the rear coil spring insulator, and install the rear coil spring insulator on the rear suspension support.
Align the width across flat of the piston rod end and of the rear suspension support to install the rear shock absorber.
INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
Install the suspension support assembly with the insulator upper to the shock absorber.
INSTALL REAR SUPPORT TO REAR SHOCK ABSORBER LH COLLAR
Install the collar to the shock absorber.
INSTALL REAR SUPPORT TO REAR SHOCK ABSORBER LH NUT
Temporarily install a new lock nut to the rear shock absorber.
| *1 | Front |
| *2 | Wheel Outer Side |
Adjust the rear suspension support so that the bolts come to the positions as shown in the illustration, and remove SST from the rear coil spring.
Note
Do not use an impact wrench.
Make sure that the width across flat on the piston rod end is located parallel to the shock absorber bush.
Make sure of the direction of the rear suspension support when removing SST.
