P2716 Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SLT)

DESCRIPTION

Refer to DTC P2714 Click here.

DTC No.

DTC Detection Condition

  1. Diagnosis Condition

  2. Malfunction Status

  3. Malfunction Time

  4. Other

Trouble Area
P2716
  1. Engine is running

  2. Solenoid valve SLT circuit is open or shorted

  3. 1 second

  4. 1 trip detection logic

  • Shift solenoid valve SLT

  • Transmission wire

  • Harness and connector

  • TCM

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

When an open or short in the shift solenoid valve SLT circuit is detected, the TCM interprets this as a fault. The TCM will turn on the MIL and store the DTC.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND TRANSMISSION WIRE (TRANSMISSION WIRE - TCM, TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT))

    1. A001FPFE01
      *1 TCM Connector

      Disconnect the E7 TCM connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E7-3 (SLT+) - E7-2 (SLT-) Always 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
E7-3 (SLT+) or E7-2 (SLT-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG
    OK
  2. REPLACE TCM

    1. Replace the TCM Click here.

*1 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Transmission Wire)
      *2 TCM Connector
    2. Disconnect the E7 TCM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E50-3 (SLT+) - E7-3 (SLT+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E50-4 (SLT-) - E7-2 (SLT-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E50-3 (SLT+) or E7-3 (SLT+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
E50-4 (SLT-) or E7-2 (SLT-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG
    OK
  4. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT

    A0019VFE03
*a Component without harness connected: (Shift Solenoid Valve SLT)

    1. Remove the shift solenoid valve SLT Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance of the shift solenoid valve.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Terminal 1 of the shift solenoid valve SLT - terminal 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
    3. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating noise.

      OK
Valve moves and makes operating noise.

    OK
