DESCRIPTION

When the driving support ECU receives an engine control system or ECT system malfunction signal from the ECM, this DTC is stored.

When DTC C1A40 is stored, the engine control system or ECT system DTC will also be stored.

  1. System diagnosis conditions


    • Pre-crash system:


      • The engine switch is on (IG).


    • Radar cruise control system:


      • Vehicle is being driven at speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and distance control switch is on

  2. Driving support ECU detects problem with engine control system transmission signal


  • Engine control system

  • ECT system

  • ECM

  • Driving support ECU

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC (ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine /. Then select "Diagnostic Code".

    2. Check for DTCs.

  2. CHECK FOR DTC (ECT SYSTEM)


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Make sure the following conditions are met:

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.


      • Pre-crash system:

        The engine switch is on (IG).

      • Radar cruise control system:

        The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.

    3. Check for DTCs Click here.

      ECT system DTCs are not output.

  3. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Make sure the following conditions are met:

  4. REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU


    1. Replace the driving support ECU with a new one Click here.

      Note

      When replacing the driving support ECU, always replace it with a new one and be sure to perform initialization Click here. If an ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the ECU will not match the information from the vehicle, and as a result, a DTC may be stored.
