FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT

2. REMOVE RESONATOR BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the bolt and resonator bracket sub-assembly.

3. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

   Click here

4. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the crankshaft timing gear key from the crankshaft.

5. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the timing chain case oil seal with a screwdriver.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Note

      Do not damage the surface of the timing chain case oil seal press fit hole and crankshaft.

6. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL

   
   

   1. 

      Using SST, tap in a new timing chain case oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing chain case edge.

      Note

      
      

      • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

      • Do not tap timing chain case oil at an angle.

7. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY

   
   

   1. 

      Install the crankshaft timing gear key.

8. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

   Click here

9. INSTALL RESONATOR BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Install the resonator bracket sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:

      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

10. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT
