DESCRIPTION
The battery supplies electricity to the TCM even when the ignition switch is off. This power allows the TCM to store data such as DTC history, freeze frame data and etc. If the battery voltage falls below a minimum level, the stored data is cleared and the TCM determines that there is a malfunction in the power supply circuit. When the engine is next started, the TCM will illuminate the MIL and set the DTC.

CHECK FUSE (EFI NO. 2 FUSE)
Remove the EFI NO. 2 fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.
Measure the EFI NO. 2 fuse resistance.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATT VOLTAGE OF TCM)
Disconnect the TCM connector.
Measure the voltage of the TCM connector.

CHECK DTC OUTPUT
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn on the tester.
Clear the DTC (Click here).
Turn the ignition switch off and turn the tester off.
Start the engine and turn on the tester.
Select the item: "Powertrain / ECT / DTC / Current or Pending".
Read the DTCs using the intelligent tester.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TCM - BODY GROUND, TCM - EFI NO. 2 FUSE - BATTERY)
Check the harness and the connector between the TCM and body ground.
Disconnect the TCM connector.
Measure the resistance.
