| DTC Code | DTC Name |
|---|---|
| P060E | Internal Control Module Throttle Position Performance |
DESCRIPTION
The ECM monitors the input signals of the throttle position sensor No. 1 and stop light switch. If the input signals and control signals deviate, a DTC is stored.
| DTC No. | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area |
|---|---|---|
| P060E | Either condition is met (1 trip detection logic):
|
ECM |
MONITOR STRATEGY
| Required sensors/Components | ECM |
| Frequency of operation | Once per driving cycle |
TYPICAL MALFUNCTION THRESHOLDS
| When one of following conditions is met: | Condition 1 or 2 |
| 1. Difference of main throttle position and sub throttle position | 0.3 V or more |
| 2. Stop light switch signal (CPU) and stop light switch signal (Monitor IC) | Different |
CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.
Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC operation).
Turn the intelligent tester off.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the intelligent tester.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.
Wait 16 seconds or more.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Read the pending DTCs.
If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.
Input the DTC: P060E.
Check the DTC judgment result.
| Tester Display | Description |
|---|---|
| NORMAL |
|
| ABNORMAL |
|
| INCOMPLETE |
|
| N/A |
|
If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
If the judgment result is INCOMPLETE or N/A and no pending DTC is output, perform a universal trip and check for permanent DTCs (Click here).
If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
After turning ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Click here).
Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
