AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the radio receiver assembly and steering pad switch LH illumination when the headlight dimmer switch assembly is in the tail or head position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK ILLUMINATION


    1. Check if the illumination for the radio receiver assembly, steering pad switch LH, glove box or other parts (hazard switch, transmission control switch, etc.) comes on when the light control switch is turned to the tail or head position.

      Illumination comes on for all components except steering pad switch LH A
      Illumination comes on for all components except radio receiver assembly. B
      No illumination comes on (radio receiver assembly, hazard switch, glove box, etc.). C

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)

      Disconnect the spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      H77-13 (IL2+) - Body ground Headlight dimmer switch assembly tail or head 11 to 14 V

  3. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH LH


    1. Remove the steering pad switch LH Click here.

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch LH Click here.

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly Click here.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the I2 radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the H77 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I2-9 (SWG) - H77-3 (EAU) Always Below 1 Ω
      I2-9 (SWG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

      Disconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
