| DTC Code | DTC Name |

| B1242 | Wireless Door Lock Tuner Circuit Malfunction |
DESCRIPTION
The certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is used to receive radio waves related to the entry functions of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly. The certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) decodes the requested electrical key transmitter sub-assembly operation by identifying a key code based on the radio waves received via the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly). The certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) receives a signal from the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly and sends signals to the instrument panel junction block assembly (body ECU). (ex. if a door lock operation is requested, the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) sends a door lock command to the instrument panel junction block assembly [body ECU]).
| DTC Code | DTC Detecting Condition | Trouble Area |

| B1242 | An internal malfunction occurs in the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly). | Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) |
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
Note
The wireless door lock control system (w/ Smart Entry and Start System) uses the CAN communication system and LIN communication system. First inspect the communication systems by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting Click here. Troubleshoot the wireless door lock control system (w/ Smart Entry and Start System) after confirming that the communication systems are functioning properly.
When using the GTS with the vehicle engine switch off, connect the GTS to the vehicle and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the GTS and the vehicle begins. Then select the Model Code "KEY REGIST" under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start(CAN). While using the GTS, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the GTS and the vehicle.
When replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to Service Bulletin.
Check that there are no electrical key transmitter sub-assemblies in the vehicle.
This DTC is not detected within 10 seconds after the engine switch is turned to off from on (IG)
Before performing the inspection, check that DTC B27B0 is not output.
