ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM (w/o Smart Entry and Start System) Security Indicator Light Does not Blink

DESCRIPTION

The transponder key ECU assembly blinks the security indicator light when the immobiliser is set.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • If the transponder key ECU assembly is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

  • When using the GTS with the vehicle ignition switch off, connect the GTS to the vehicle and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the GTS and the vehicle begins. Then select the Model Code "KEY REGIST" under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Immobiliser. While using the GTS, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the GTS and the vehicle.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (SECURITY INDICATOR)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Immobiliser / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the H60 transponder key ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the H20 combination meter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. CHECK TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY (TERMINAL IND)


    1. Connect the H60 transponder key ECU assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
