VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C1225, C1468, C1469, C146A, C146B

DTC Code DTC Name
C1225 SM Solenoid Circuit
C1468 SFR Solenoid Circuit
C1469 SFL Solenoid Circuit
C146A SRR Solenoid Circuit
C146B SRL Solenoid Circuit

DESCRIPTION

These solenoids turn on when signals are received from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) and they control the pressure acting on the wheel cylinders to control the braking force.

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1225

Either of the following is detected:

  1. While master cylinder cut solenoid (SM1 or SM2) outputs ON, overcurrent continues for 0.1 seconds or more.

  2. While master cylinder cut solenoid (SM1 or SM2) outputs OFF, open circuit continues for 0.05 seconds or more.

  3. While master cylinder cut solenoid (SM1 or SM2) outputs ON, open circuit continues for 0.05 seconds or more.

  4. While master cylinder cut solenoid (SM1 or SM2) outputs OFF, current is maintained for 0.05 seconds or more.

  5. Difference in master cylinder cut solenoids (SM1 and SM2) output accuracy continues for 0.2 seconds or more.

Either of the following is detected:

  1. Open or short circuit in decompression solenoid continues for 0.05 seconds or more.

  2. While holding solenoid outputs OFF, open circuit continues for 0.05 seconds or more.

  3. While holding solenoid outputs OFF, current is maintained for 0.05 seconds or more.

  4. While holding solenoid outputs ON, overcurrent continues for 0.1 seconds or more.

  5. While holding solenoid outputs ON, open circuit continues for 0.05 seconds or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

When replacing the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), perform zero point calibration and store system information Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. RECONFIRM DTC

    Tech Tips

    • These codes are detected when a problem is determined in the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).

    • The solenoid circuits are in the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).

Therefore, solenoid circuit inspection and solenoid unit inspection cannot be performed. Be sure to check if any DTCs are output before replacing the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).

    1. Clear the DTC Click here.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    3. Start the engine.

    4. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 30 seconds or more.

    5. Check if the same DTC is recorded Click here.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      DTCs C1225, C1468, C1469, C146A and C146B are not output A
      DTCs C1225, C1468, C1469, C146A and/or C146B are output B

      Tech Tips

      • If a speed signal of 6 km/h (4 mph) or more is input to the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), with the ignition switch ON and the stop light switch off, the ECU performs self-diagnosis of the motor and solenoid circuits.

      • If the normal system code is output (the trouble code is not output), slightly jiggle the connectors, wire harness, and fuses of the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly). Make sure that no DTCs are output.

      • If any DTCs are output while jiggling a connector or wire harness from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), inspect and repair the connector or wire harness.

      • The DTCs were probably output due to a bad connection of the connector terminal.
