SUN GEAR AND ONE-WAY CLUTCH REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL SUN GEAR INPUT DRUM SHAFT SNAP RING


    1. A003BQW

      Using screwdriver, install the snap ring.

  2. INSTALL SUN GEAR INPUT DRUM


    1. A003HMH

      Place a wooden block or similar object as a work stand, and place the planetary sun gear onto it.

    2. Install the sun gear input drum onto the planetary sun gear.

      Using a snap ring expander, install the snap ring.

  3. INSTALL SUN GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL RING

      Coat the 2 oil seal rings with ATF.

    2. Install the 2 oil seal rings onto the planetary sun gear.

      Note

      Do not over-spread the ring ends.

      Tech Tips

      After installing the oil seal rings, check that they rotate smoothly.

  4. INSTALL 1 WAY CLUTCH THRUST WASHER NO.1


    1. A003DC9

      Install the 1 way clutch thrust washer No.1.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that the lug shapes fit into the holes in the sun gear input drum.

  5. INSTALL 1 WAY CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

      Install the 1 way clutch assembly onto the planetary sun gear.

  6. INSPECT 1 WAY CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

      Hold the planetary sun gear, and turn the 2nd brake hub. Check that the 2nd brake hub can be turned freely clockwise and locked counterclockwise.
