SUN GEAR AND ONE-WAY CLUTCH DISASSEMBLY


  1. INSPECT 1 WAY CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

      Hold the planetary sun gear, and turn the 2nd brake hub. Check that the 2nd brake hub can be turned freely clockwise and locked counterclockwise.

  2. REMOVE 1 WAY CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 1 way clutch assembly.

  3. REMOVE 1 WAY CLUTCH THRUST WASHER NO.1


    1. A003DC9

      Remove the 1 way clutch thrust washer No.1.

  4. REMOVE SUN GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL RING

      Remove the sun gear shaft oil seal rings.

  5. REMOVE SUN GEAR INPUT DRUM

      Use a wooden block or similar object as a work stand.

    2. A003E67

      Using a snap ring expander, remove the snap ring.

    3. Remove the sun gear input drum from the planetary sun gear.

  6. REMOVE SUN GEAR INPUT DRUM SHAFT SNAP RING

      Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring from the planetary sun gear.

  7. INSPECT PLANETARY SUN GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a dial indicator, measure the inside diameter of the planetary sun gear bushings.

      Maximum inside diameter
      27.08 mm (1.0661 in.)

      If the inside diameter is greater than the maximum, replace the planetary sun gear.
