PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH REMOVAL


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (w/ DPF)


    1. Disconnect the exhaust gas temperature sensor connector and detach the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the No. 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor connector and detach the 2 clamps.

    3. Disconnect the No. 3 exhaust gas temperature sensor connector and detach the 2 clamps.

      Disconnect the No. 1 exhaust pipe air hose and No. 7 exhaust pipe air hose from the front exhaust pipe.

    5. A003G3K

      Remove the 2 No. 4 exhaust pipe supports.

    6. Remove the 3 nuts and front exhaust pipe.

    7. Remove the gasket.

  3. SEPARATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Set the shift lever to the neutral position.

      Remove the nut from the control shaft lever.

    3. Remove the clip and disconnect the control cable from the control cable bracket.

  4. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.

    2. A003AQ5E03

      Using a screwdriver, pry out the lock washer.

    3. Remove the lock nut and lock washer.

      Remove the bolt and park/neutral position switch.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that the manual valve lever shaft has not been rotated prior to installing the park/neutral position switch as the detent spring may become detached from the manual valve lever shaft.
