GENERATOR DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE GENERATOR WITH CLUTCH PULLEY


    1. Remove the generator pulley cap.

    2. A003BNLE01

      Install SST to the pulley and vise as shown in the illustration.

      SST
      09820-63020

    3. Mount SST (A) in a vise.

    4. A003HOTE01

      Turn SST (B) clockwise, and loosen the pulley.

    5. Remove the pulley.

  2. REMOVE GENERATOR REAR END COVER

      Remove the 3 nuts and generator rear end cover.

  3. REMOVE TERMINAL INSULATOR


    1. A003DES

      Remove the terminal insulator.

  4. REMOVE GENERATOR BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 screws and generator brush holder assembly.

  5. REMOVE GENERATOR COIL ASSEMBLY


    1. A003G1Y

      Remove the 4 through bolts.

    2. A003BQIE01

      Using SST, remove the generator coil.

    3. Remove the generator washer.

  6. REMOVE GENERATOR ROTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the generator rotor from the drive end frame.

  7. INSPECT GENERATOR DRIVE END FRAME BEARING


    1. A003DXH

      Inspect than the bearing is not rough or worn. If necessary, replace the bearing.

  8. REMOVE GENERATOR DRIVE END FRAME BEARING


    1. A003AZC

      Remove the 4 screws and bearing retainer.

    2. A003AXDE01

      Using SST, tap out the bearing.
