STARTER (for 1.6 kW Type) DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. A003BZV

      Remove the nut and disconnect the lead wire from the terminal C.

    2. A003DDY

      Remove the 2 nuts from the starter drive housing assembly while holding the magnet starter switch assembly.

    3. A003IEC

      Pull the magnet starter switch assembly and, while lifting the front part of the magnet starter switch assembly, release the plunger hook from the starter pinion drive lever and remove the magnet starter switch assembly.

  2. REMOVE STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY

      Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 through bolts.

    2. A003CQH

      Remove the starter yoke assembly and commutator end frame assembly from the starter drive housing assembly.

  3. REMOVE STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY


    1. A003GYR

      Remove the 2 screws from the starter commutator end frame assembly.

    2. A003G7L

      Remove the starter commutator end frame assembly from the starter yoke assembly.

      Note

      While holding down the lead wire, remove the starter commutator end frame assembly.

    3. A003DI0

      Disconnect the 4 brushes from the starter brush holder assembly.


      1. Using a screwdriver, hold back the spring.

      2. Disconnect the brush from the brush holder assembly.

    4. Remove the starter brush holder assembly.

  4. REMOVE STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the starter armature assembly from the starter yoke assembly.

  5. REMOVE STARTER CENTER BEARING CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A003ARR

      Remove the starter armature plate from the starter yoke assembly or starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.

    2. A003HV4

      Remove the 3 planetary gears from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.

    3. A003CLH

      Remove the starter pinion drive lever, rubber plate and starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly from the starter drive housing assembly.
