OIL PUMP (w/ DPF) INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT OIL PUMP RELIEF SLEEVE


    1. A003CQ7

      Coat the oil pump relief sleeve with engine oil.

    2. Drop the oil pump relief sleeve into the timing gear case and check that it falls in smoothly by its own weight.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the timing gear case assembly.

  2. INSPECT OIL PUMP RELIEF VALVE


    1. A003HZ6

      Coat the oil pump relief valve with engine oil.

    2. Drop the oil pump relief valve into the timing gear case and check that it falls in smoothly by its own weight.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the timing gear case assembly.

  3. INSPECT OIL PUMP RELIEF VALVE SPRING


    1. Make sure the oil pump relief valve spring is not damaged.

  4. INSPECT OIL PUMP


    1. A003GH4E01

      Install the driven rotor to the timing gear case so that the side of the driven rotor with the mark faces the cylinder block.

    2. A003C0ZE01

      Check the tip clearance.


      1. Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance between the drive and driven rotor tips.

        Standard clearance
        0.06 to 0.16 mm (0.00236 to 0.00630 in.)
        Maximum clearance
        0.21 mm (0.00827 in.)

        If the tip clearance is more than the maximum, replace the timing gear case assembly.

    3. A003FGDE01

      Check the body clearance.


      1. Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance between the oil pump body and driven rotor.

        Standard clearance
        0.10 to 0.17 mm (0.00394 to 0.00669 in.)
        Maximum clearance
        0.2 mm (0.00787 in.)

        If the body clearance is more than the maximum, replace the timing gear case assembly.

    4. A003GL8E01

      Check the side clearance.


      1. Using a feeler gauge and precision straightedge, measure the clearance between the rotor and precision straightedge.

        Standard clearance
        0.03 to 0.09 mm (0.00118 to 0.00354 in.)
        Maximum clearance
        0.15 mm (0.00591 in.)

        If the side clearance is more than the maximum, replace the timing gear case assembly.
