CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
CAUTION:
The pre-crash safety city sensor uses lasers to detect preceding vehicles. The pre-crash safety city sensor is classified as a Class 1M laser product according to the IEC 60825-1 standard. These lasers are not harmful to the naked eye. However, it is necessary to observe the following precautions. Failure to do so may result in severe visual impairment, or at worst, loss of eyesight.
To avoid hazardous laser radiation exposure, never attempt to disassemble the pre-crash safety city sensor or perform maintenance procedures that are not described in the repair manual. When disassembled, the pre-crash safety city sensor is classified as a Class 3B laser product according to the IEC 60825-1 standard and poses an eye injury risk.
When installing the pre-crash safety city sensor, install the pre-crash safety city sensor to the bracket, and then connect the connector.
Do not look into the pre-crash safety city sensor using a magnifying glass, microscope or other optical instrument from a distance of 100 mm (3.94 in.) or less.
As the pre-crash safety city sensor may be hot, be careful not to burn or injure yourself.
Note
When replacing the pre-crash safety city sensor, replace it with a new one.
Do not touch the camera lens. If the camera lens has been touched, do not use the pre-crash safety city sensor.
If the pre-crash safety city sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it with a new one.
If the pre-crash safety city sensor is not properly installed, pre-crash safety city sensor optical axis learning cannot be performed properly. Make sure the pre-crash safety city sensor is installed securely.
Replace the pre-crash safety city sensor if there is any foreign matter on the camera lens.
When replacing the windshield glass of a vehicle equipped with a pre-crash safety city sensor, make sure to use a Toyota genuine part. If a non-Toyota genuine part is used, the pre-crash safety city sensor may not be able to be installed due to a missing bracket or the pre-crash safety system may not operate properly due to a difference in the transmissivity of the windshield glass or the shape of the black ceramic border.
If the pre-crash safety city sensor bracket is deformed, damaged or loose, replace it together with the windshield glass.
If there is any foreign matter on the area of the windshield glass in front of the pre-crash safety city sensor, clean the windshield glass before installing the pre-crash safety city sensor.
When the pre-crash safety city sensor is replaced with a new one or wind shield glass is removed, camera beam axis learning must be performed.
