P161A LIN Communication Error with Alternator

DESCRIPTION

The power management control ECU and generator assembly detect reception errors respectively.

The generator assembly reception error detected by the generator assembly is sent to the power management control ECU via LIN communication. If an error occurs in the power management control ECU or generator assembly, the power management control ECU determines there is a LIN communication error and stores this DTC.

DTC Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
P161A A reception error in the power management control ECU or generator assembly continues for approximately 17 minutes or more with the ignition switch ON (1 trip detection logic).

    1. Disconnect the D113 power management control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the B106 generator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D113-1 (LIN1) - B106-1 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      D113-1 (LIN1) or B106-1 (LIN) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off (while LIN communication is stopped) 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the D112 power management control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the B106 generator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      D112-17 (LIN1) - B106-1 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      D112-17 (LIN1) or B106-1 (LIN) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off (while LIN communication is stopped) 10 kΩ or higher
