DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling motor receives a signal from the headlight swivel ECU assembly to operate. The headlight swivel ECU assembly receives a signal indicating the operating conditions of the headlight leveling motor.

Tech Tips


  • Perform a visual check of the headlight assembly (headlight swivel motor) before replacing it (w/ Adaptive Front-lighting System).

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • After replacing the headlight swivel ECU assembly, initialization of the ECU is necessary Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B2417 or B2418 output does not occur.

    OK

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK Click here

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / AFS / Active Test.

    5. Using the GTS, perform the Active Test.

  4. READ VALUE USING GTS (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / AFS / Data List.

    5. Using the GTS, read the Data List.

      Disconnect the headlight swivel ECU assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A38 headlight swivel ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A77*1 or A76*2 headlight assembly connector.


      • *1: for LH

      • *2: for RH

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
