PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output Click here.

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (TRC/VSC OFF MODE)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    3. Start the engine.

    4. Select the Data List on the intelligent tester Click here.

      ABS/VSC/TRC
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      TRC/VSC Off Mode VSC OFF switch / Normal, TRC OFF, Unknown or VSC OFF

      Normal: Normal

      TRC OFF: TRC off mode

      VSC OFF: VSC off mode

    5. Check that the mode display changes according to VSC OFF switch operation.

  3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Perform the Active Test of the combination meter to check the VSC OFF indicator light using the intelligent tester Click here.

      The VSC OFF indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the intelligent tester operation.

  4. INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH


    1. A004T0WE01
      *1 Component without harness connected: (VSC OFF Switch)
      *2 Not pushed in
      *3 Pushed in

      Remove the VSC OFF switch Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      6 (+) - 3 (E) Switch is pushed in Below 1 Ω
      Switch is not pushed in 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VSC OFF SWITCH - SKID CONTROL ECU/BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the VSC OFF switch connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A42-17 (CSW) - D67-6 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A42-17 (CSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D67-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
