DESCRIPTION

Speeds signals are sent from the combination meter assembly to the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver.

DTC C2191/91 is stored only during the signal check.

All conditions below are met:


  • DTC C2121/21, C2122/22, C2123/23, and/or C2124/24 is output

  • Vehicle speed signal malfunction

  • Combination meter

  • Vehicle speed signal circuit

  • Harness or connector

  • Tire pressure warning ECU and receiver

  • Tire pressure warning valve and transmitter
C2191/91 Test mode procedure is performed.

  • Meter / gauge system (speed signal)

  • Vehicle speed signal circuit

Note


  • When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver, read the transmitter IDs stored in the old ECU using the GTS and write them down before removal.

  • It is necessary to perform initialization (See page ) after registration Click here of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver if the ECU has been replaced.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (VEHICLE SPEED)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.

    6. Check that the values indicated on the GTS and on the combination meter assembly are the same.

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Perform a driving test.

    5. Check for DTCs Click here.

      The time required for DTC C2174 to be stored is 20 minutes.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECU - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver G61*1 or L1*2 connector.


      • *1: for Sedan

      • *2: for Wagon

    2. Disconnect the combination meter assembly D66 connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for Sedan
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G61-2 (SPD) - D66-3 (+S) Always Below 1 Ω
      G61-2 (SPD) or D66-3 (+S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for Wagon
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L1-2 (SPD) - D66-3 (+S) Always Below 1 Ω
      L1-2 (SPD) or D66-3 (+S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) A42 connector.

    2. Disconnect the combination meter assembly D66 connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A42-33 (SP1) - D66-5 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      A42-33 (SP1) or D66-5 (SI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Check for DTCs.

  9. CHECK TEST MODE DTC (C2191/91)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Utility / Signal Check.

    6. Drive the vehicle at 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 3 seconds or more to check the vehicle speed signal (C2191/91).
