  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH

  3. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH

  4. REMOVE FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE

  5. REMOVE DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

  6. REMOVE FRONT DISC

    Click here

  7. DISCONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  8. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  9. REMOVE FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY LH

  10. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Hold the front axle assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.

      Note

      When using a vise, do not overtighten it.

    2. Remove the cotter pin and nut.

      *a 1 mm

      Install SST to the front lower ball joint as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      make sure that the clearance measurement between SST and the front axle assembly is 1 mm (0.0394 in.).

      *1 Place the wrench here

      Using SST, remove the front lower ball joint from the front axle assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Install SST so that A and B are parallel.

      • Be sure to place the wrench on the part indicated in the illustration.

      • Do not damage the front lower ball joint dust cover.

  11. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE LH


    1. Hold the front axle assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.

      Note

      When using a vise, do not overtighten it.

    2. A004OAS

      Remove the 4 bolts and front axle hub sub-assembly from the steering knuckle.

      Note

      Do not place the magnet rotor side of the hub and bearing so that it is facing downward, and do not allow the magnet rotor side to become damaged or contact foreign matter.

    3. Remove the front brake dust cover from the steering knuckle.
