DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the front drive shaft assembly Click here.

  2. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET

    Click here

  3. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. A004U9OE01

      Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal LH.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH


    1. A004NLTE01

      Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal RH.

  5. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. Coat the lip of a new front drive shaft oil seal LH with MP grease.

    2. A004P8UE01

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the front drive shaft oil seal LH to the manual transaxle case.

      Standard depth
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0196 in.)

      Note

      Do not damage the oil seal lip.

  6. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH


    1. Coat the lip of a new front drive shaft oil seal RH with MP grease.

    2. A004RA6E01

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the front drive shaft oil seal RH to the front transaxle case.

      Standard depth
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0196 in.)

      Note

      Do not damage the oil seal lip.

  7. INSTALL DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET

  8. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the front drive shaft assembly Click here.

  9. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK
