When the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal, stop and start control is prohibited until refresh charge is completed. After connecting the cable, drive the vehicle until refresh charge is completed and stop and start control is permitted (approximately 5 to 40 minutes).
Allow the engine to idle for 3 minutes after the engine warms up and check that the engine speed is within 50 rpm of the target idle speed.
Even if the automatic engine restart conditions are met while the parking brake is in operation, the engine does not immediately restart. The engine restarts when the parking brake is engaged.
If the parking brake switch is pressed while the engine is restarting, the engine restart may be canceled. If the operation was canceled, the engine restarts when the parking brake is engaged.
WARNING CONTROL
If any of the following operations are performed while the engine is stopped due to stop and start control, the system will not restart the engine. The engine will change the mode from "stopped due to system control" to "stalled" or the driver will be warned using the buzzer.
