DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM FAIL-SAFE CHART


  1. Constant speed control mode and vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:

      *1 Master warning light
      *2 CRUISE main indicator light (Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode)
      *3 Multi-information display

      If the conditions listed under the "Auto Cancel Condition" column in the following table are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the ECM and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

      Vehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Fail-safe Deactivation Condition

      • CRUISE main indicator light goes off

      • Master warning light turns on

      • "CHECK CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM" is displayed

      • "Pong" warning sound is heard

      • Open or short in stop light switch circuit

      • Problem with vehicle speed signal

      • Problem with driving support ECU

      		 Turn cruise control switch off and then on again

  2. Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:

      • "CLEAN RADAR SENSOR" is displayed

      • "Pong" warning sound is heard

      		 There is dirt on millimeter wave radar sensor

      • Recover from condition on left (RESUME operation is possible after recovery)

      • Turn cruise control switch off and then on again

  3. Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:

      • Millimeter wave radar sensor has reduced sensitivity because of bad weather such as rain, fog, snow or sandstorms

      • Recover from condition on left (RESUME operation is possible after recovery)

      • Turn cruise control switch off and then on again
